CA Workload Automation DE Desktop Client is a rich desktop application for designing, scheduling, and monitoring event-driven enterprise workloads in CA Workload Automation DE environments. It offers a graphical, drag-and-drop interface to model jobs and dependencies, define calendars and resources, and orchestrate complex, cross-platform processes. Schedulers and operators get real-time visibility into job status and history, can perform controlled actions (hold, release, restart, rerun), and troubleshoot issues from a single console. The client connects securely to the DE server and enforces role-based permissions to maintain governance and consistency.

Key capabilities:

  • Visual workflow design for applications, jobs, and dependencies
  • Event-based scheduling using time, calendars, file/resource conditions, and external triggers
  • Real-time monitoring with dashboards, run history, and audit trails
  • Centralized operational controls: hold, release, restart, rerun
  • Agent-based execution of scripts and commands across Windows and UNIX/Linux hosts
  • Calendar and time-zone management for global operations
  • Import/export of definitions to promote changes between environments
  • Notifications and alerting to speed incident response

Typical uses include orchestrating nightly batch cycles, data pipelines, file transfers, and other business-critical processes across distributed systems.
